Tis the Season - already! Oh my, time flies!

At our studio we are choosing costumes and preparing small dances for our Holiday Open House. Parents and families can come sit in on class during the last week before Winter break. We started this new tradition last year, and the students and parents loved it. Our holiday visits to nursing homes and the mall are still not possible here. Last year we decorated bulletin boards with these snowflake angels. It was worth taking the time in class to make these with the girls. I also distributed the U - for Unique coloring page from Volume 2 - A Ballet Alphabet. Reminding them how special they are, and unique like a snowflake. My teenagers especially, get caught up in comparing themselves to what they envision the ideal dancer is - and many get frustrated. This quote from Martha Graham makes a strong impression!
